A Piercing House Mouse Challenge

I did two cards for this challenge. When I first read this week's House Mouse Challenge to use paper piercing, my brain didn't register the "r", so I started off in a paper piecing direction. Then re-read it and here's where I ended up. I followed this week's Mojo Monday 71 sketch. Colored the image with Prismacolor pencils/baby oil, cut margins close and inked the edges. Used Memory Box Provence DP on gray base, inked all edges. Stamped the zipper from Crafty Secrets on the same gray CS and attached it in placed of the ribbon in the sketch. Sentiment is also from Crafty Secrets, cut and embossed with Labels One Nestabilities. Did the piercing around the inner border of the die. Inked the edges and attached it up on foam tape. Deviated from the sketch an itty bit by hiding a piercing boo-boo with the Dew Drops in the lower corner. : )

Stamps: House Mouse Perfect Fit, Crafty Secrets Sew Special.
Paper: The Paper Studio, Memory Box Provence, paint chip.
Ink: Colorbox Queues, Stazon.
Accessories: Dew Drops, Nestabilities, foam tape.

This card is for this weekend. How many of you ladies will be seeing your guys with this glazed-over stare this Sunday? Lots of hands. How many of you ladies will be wearing this same expression? hee hee!! We're going to a Super Bowl party, and I made this to give to the hosts. Obviously I'm rooting for the Steelers. Hey, Cowboys didn't make it (by a long shot), so... : ) Before Chuck I never watched football regularly; now I watch it more but it's more for entertainment of seeing and hearing Chuck yell at the players and coaches. Have caught myself a few times yelling "gooooooooo" or "get him!" Got this stamp on E-Bay; it's from 1998 when Stampa Rosa was making these mousey images. The rubber was a bit hard so I had a hard time getting a good image stamped, but did the best I could. Colored with Prismacolor pencils/baby oil. Tried my best to match the black and gold Steelers colors. Used MS punch on the border of the gold CS before attaching to the base. Image attached on top, edges inked. Sentiment was cut out with Spellbinders Tag, paper pierced inside the die. Attached it on foam tape, and added the gold rhinestones.
Stamps: Monday Night Football, sentiment unknown.
Paper: The Paper Studio.
Ink: Stazon, Colorbox Queues.
Accessories: MS border punch, Spellbinders tag, rhinestones, foam tape.

Nancy, these two cards are fabulous. I love the sewing machine and those little mousies getting new footwear...how cute! Great idea with the zipper and the paper is perfect with this. Also, great idea for a Super Bowl party card. That's a perfect image! Your coloring of both is great! Have fun at your party. The perfect scenario would be for the guys to watch and the girls to stamp - that's how I would play it, but then,I'm not in charge and I'm sure that's a good thin.

Both cards are adorable! I can relate to the football card. I don't know if hubby will be home, but I'll be watching!! I was in Arizona when the Cardinals moved there and year after year we watched disastrous seasons. But I love QB Kurt Warner so I will be cheering on the Cards. And if hubby is home I will still take possession of the remote!!

These are both adorable, but I love, love the football card. How cute is that image? Learning to like football here, but prefer college to pro.
