A Spoonful of Sugar Birthday

Oh what fun...to be a guest at A Spoon Full of Sugar! :).  This week's challenge is Birthdays.  I used this sweet image from Whiff of Joy, called "Willow With Sunhat", colored with Copics.  I followed the sketch at Paper Sundaes, making it into a shaped card by cutting on the fold with Spellbinders Grand Labels Eleven, and used the color scheme from CR84FN.  Willow was cut/embossed with Spellbinders Labels Fourteen die, and the sentiment, which I printed off my computer, was cut/embossed with Ribbon Tags Trio die.  The lavender DP is Lilac Avenue by KaiserCraft.  Tiny buttons from Michael's painted with Platinum Liquid Pearls.

Other Challenges:
Whiff of Joy - Buttons and Bows.
Paper Sundaes - Sketch.
CR84FN - Lavender, celery, gray.
Craft Your Days Away - Birthdays.
Crazy 4 Challenges - Shaped card.

Stamps:  Whiff of Joy "Willow With Sunhat".
Paper:  KaiserCraft Lilac Avenue, The Paper Studio.
Ink:  Computer,  Colorbox Queues.
Accessories:  Spellbinders Grand Labels Eleven, Labels Fourteen, and Ribbon Tags Trio, seam binding, buttons, Wild Orchid roses, Crealies CL CS 11, Marianne D LR0150 Forest Branch.

Whiff of Joy Flutter

It has been far too long since I made a card using a Whiff of Joy image, and I have a bunch of them! I saw Jane's great sketch on the WOJ challenge blog so decided to play along.  Definitely need to ink these images up more often again!  For this card I used Musing Melinda, putting her on the mushroom from the Fall 2009 set.  Colored image with Prismacolors. Added Stickles to her wings and Liquid Pearls in her hair on around the scallops.  Spellbinders large scallop circle used to cut/emboss image, shaded in with distress ink and chalks.  The DP is a gorgeous linen texture paper from GCD Studios.  Used JustRite sentiment, some flowers from my stash after I used Glimmer Mist on them.  Pearls in the corners and a calla lilly charm.  I am also using this card for this week's Flutter By Wednesday challenge.

Birthday for Audrey

Today is my friend Audrey's birthday. A bunch of are getting together at Rio Rio Cantina on the Riverwalk to celebrate. I made this card and gift set for her. The card just happened to fit into two challanges: Whiff of Joy Challenge 77 to make a gift card, and Sharon's Stamp Simply Challenge to make a joy fold card.

I chose this WOJ image because Audrey loves to cook, and we got her a gift card from Williams Sonoma. I colored her with Prismacolor pencils blended with baby oil. Cut and embossed the image with Spellbinders Labels 8; chalked around her while still in the die, then inked the edges. Mounted that to brown CS cut on the fold with the largest Labels 8, and attached a smaller label to the inside to write on. All DP is Basic Grey LilyKate. Flowers cut and embossed with Nellie Snellen punches, sprayed with Glimmer Mist, and added some Dew Drops. Attached a little pocket inside to put the card in. Will also be including a one-hour maternity massage for Audrey.

Whiff of Joy #23

I really love these spring Whiff of Joy images! This week's Whiff of Joy Challenge is a sketch by the wonderfully talented Donalda. I used the Willow Sitting image, and decided to put her on her armchair. The images were colored with Prismacolor pencils and baby oil. I stamped tiny flowers a bit darker than the yellow on the chair to give it an upholstered look. Chalked around the image with Pebbles chalks. The basket was colored and cut out, attached on foam tape. It actually has eggs in it, but I put Flower Soft on it to make it a basket of flowers. All the DP is from Basic Grey Two Scoops pack. Sentiment is from Inkadinkado Southern Belle, attached on foam tape.

Stamps: Whiff of Joy Willow Sitting with Flower Wreath, Willow's Armchair, Basket; Inkadinkado Southern Belle.
Paper: Basic Grey Two Scoops, The Paper Studio CS.
Ink: Colorbox Queues.
Accessories: Flower Soft, corner rounder, foam tape, Pebbles Chalks.

Whiff of Joy #22

Second post today; scroll down for my House Mouse card. This week's Whiff of Joy Challenge has gone green! We're supposed to use lots of green for our cards this week. I followed the sketch for the
Weekend Sketch Challenge on Jenn Balcer's blog, obviously not for the challenge itself but just for the layout. Thought it was perfect for a WOJ card. Willow is colored as usual with Prismacolors blended with baby oil. Added some Stickles to her bracelet and jeans, Flower Soft in her basket, then chalked around the image with Pebbles chalks. The DP's are from Hot Off The Press, DCWV, and The Paper Loft. Butterflies are vellum, punched with MS punch. Flowers punched from scraps, curled, inked and stacked, with rhinestones in the centers and some little tendrils.

Stamps: Whiff of Joy Willow With Flower Basket.
Paper: Hot Off The Press, DCWV, The Paper Loft.
Ink: Stazon.
Accessories: Rhinestones, Stickles, Flower Soft, MS butterfly punch, flower punches.

Think I Lost it Again

Here are a couple of cards for some challenges I finished several days ago, but I'm not very happy with how they turned out so hadn't posted them yet. I decided to go ahead and post them because I haven't been able to come up with anything else, so guess the ol' mojo has taken a walk - again. Hope it comes back soon, and hangs around longer this time. :)
First up is the card I did for the Whiff of Joy Challenge. This week was a sketch by Heather for us to follow. I colored the Willow With Flowers image with Prismacolors blended with baby oil, chalked around her and added Flower Soft. I think all the layers were my downfall with this one, I don't know. At any rate, all DP is by Hot Off The Press, including the shimmery BG. Made the flowers from scraps of the DP.
Stamps: Whiff of Joy Willow With Flowers, Verve Artful Elegance.
Paper: Hot Off The Press DP, The Paper Studio CS.
Ink: Stazon, Colorbox Queues on the flowers.
Accessories: Flower and leaf punches, Flower Soft, rhinestone, Stickles, Pebbles Chalks.

This card is for the Crafty Secrets challenge on SCS. This one had a recipe to follow, to use ribbon or lace, brads or buttons, and paper piercing. Thought I would use the Mojo Monday sketch to finish up. Should have been pretty simple with all that, but after coloring the image from the Garden Girls set I couldn't seem to make it come together like I wanted. Bottom DP is from My Mind's Eye. Had a piece of wide lace that I attached to blue CS, and then the matted image over that. Did the paper piercing in the scallops around the image. The flowers were from a MS hydranga punch, attached with brads, then added Stickles to the brads. Corners seemed bare, so I added some swirlies in a couple different shades of blue.
Stamps: Crafty Secrets Garden Girls, Verve filigree Fantasy.
Paper: The Paper Studio, My Mind's Eye.
Ink: Stazon.
Accessories: Lace, brads, Stickles, Martha Stewart Hydranga punch, Pebbles chalks, Nestabilities.

Whiff of Joy #20

Wow, two posts in one day. :)

Oooh...The theme for this week's Whiff of Joy Challenge is Lavender & Lace. I love them both. This is another double challenge card, using the SCS Sketch 218 Still have several of the new Spring WOJ girls to use, and this one is called Kneeling Willow, colored with Prismas and blended with baby oil. Cut her out with Nestabilities Labels and chalked around her with Pebbles shimmery chalks in a pale yellow that just vanished for this photo. :) Both DP's are from Anna Griffin, rest of CS is plain ivory, all edged with ink. Ran the lace through my Xyron then patted lavender, velvet and dune Colorbox Queues over it to "age" it and make it match. Made the flowers and the urge to use Stickles overcame me and I dotted a bit in the center of the flowers.

Stamps: Whiff of Joy Kneeling Willow.
Paper: Anna Griffin DP, The Paper Studio CS.
Ink: Stazon, Colorbox Queues.
Accessories: Nestabilities, lace, foam tape, flower and leaf punches, Stickles.

Whiff of Joy Guest Designer Call

I love the new Spring Stamp Kit from Whiff of Joy; the images are gorgeous!! The current Whiff of Joy challenge is actually a guest designer call. While I don't stand a snowball's chance in south Texas of being chosen (it was 89 degrees here today - this is February, right?!?), what an honor and treat it would be if I were selected! At any rate, Katarina posted a gorgeous sketch for us to follow and post for a shot at the guest spot, and I'll use any excuse to ink up these WOJ beauties! :) I stamped Willow With Sunhat using Stazon, colored with Prismacolor pencils. Chalked around the image with Pebbles chalks. All DP is new Basic Grey Porcelain - gorgeous papers! Used MS doily punch on a couple of the layers, as well as for the sentiment mat. Left that mat intentionally lopsided, just thought it looked cute. Added Flower Soft to the flowers in Willow's hand and on her hat. Dew Drops in the corner, and a couple of flowers on the opposite side.

Stamps: Whiff of Joy Willow With Sunhat, Verve Artful Elegance sentiment
Paper: Basic Grey Procelain DP, The Paper Studio CS.
Ink: Stazon, Colorbox Queues.
Accessories: Dew Drops, Flower Soft, foam tape, MS border punch, corner punch, daisy punches, rhinestones, ribbon.

Whiff of Joy Mojo

I combined two challenges with this card. For the Whiff of Joy challenge we had a recipe of three patterned papers, two flowers and either a brad or a button. I followed the Mojo Monday 74 sketch. Melinda was stamped with Stazon and colored with Prismacolor pencils, blended with baby oil. Added Watercolor Stickles to her wings, Patina to her necklace and bracelet, and Fruit Punch to the flower on her bookmark. I cut her out with a rectangle Nestabilities, then chalked around her. Blue background is Basic Grey Lilikate, layered on DP from HOTP. The mat behind Melinda is also from HOTP. My two flowers are actually from the same sheet of HOTP DP. : ) The pink butterfly is actually a brad by Creative Charms. Have no idea where the ribbon came from, was a piece in my stash. Sentiment was stamped on same BG CS and cut out with scalloped Nestabilities.

Stamps: Whiff of Joy Melinda Reading Book, Crafty Secrets Glamour Girls.
Paper: The Paper Studio, Basic Grey Lilikate, Hot Off the Press.
Ink: Stazon, Colorbox Queues.
Accessories: Nestabilities, Stickles, ribbon, Fab Brad by Creative Charms, Pebbles chalks.

Whiff of Joy #17

First of all, I'm standing up and doing the happy dance. Thankfully none of you can see me, because it's pretty embarrassing. :) I received the results of my PET/CT yesterday, and am over-the-top happy to say...I am 100% CANCER FREE!!! Finally! This has been a long hard road, and I am so happy to finally hear this news! I would like to thank each and every one of you who have sent kind messages here on my blog and via e-mail, wishing me well, telling me I was in your prayers. You have no idea the power that has! So, thank you, thank you, thank you!

So I'll stop dancing [for now] and get to my card.
I had not used this Whiff of Joy image yet, still have a few that haven't seen ink, so here it is on this card for Whiff of Joy Challenge 17. This week was a great sketch by Donalda. I turned it on its side. This image is called "Melinda's Books", stamped on a piece of sepia DP, then colored with regular and metallic Prismacolor pencils, without blending on the books. Added gold Liquid Pearls to the spine, and Stickless to the bookmark flower. Cut and embossed the image with Curved Rectangle Nestabilities. The border was colored and blended with Prismacolor pencil and baby oil. All DP is from Hot Off The Press, including gorgeous Background vellum with different handwritten looking notes. Border punch from Fiskars, and the flowers are from a MS punch called Hydrangeas. They have Weathered Lavender Stickles in the center; these don't sparkle like the regular Stickles, are called "distressed" so are more muted, but still gorgeous. Sentiment from Verve. Used Dew Drops for my corners.
Stamps: Whiff of Joy Melinda's Books, Verve Fairy Tales.
Paper: HOTP Scrappapers and Heritage paper packs, The Paper Studio CS.
Ink: Stazon, Colorbox Queues.
Accessories: Distress Stickles, Fiskars border punch, Dew Drops, corner rounder, Nestabilities, Liquid Pearls, MS Flower punch.

A Couple of Valentine Challenges

I had thought I would try participating in more different challenges starting out this year, but that doesn't seem to be working out like I wanted it to. I do keep doing three of my favorites though, and they all have the same theme going right now...make a Valentine card, because love is in the air! : )

First is my Whiff of Joy Challenge card. This will be a double duty card, working well for Sharon's Stamp Simply challenge. This is really...pink...but I like it. Used Willow With Umbrella image, masking off the umbrella. Colored her with Prismacolors blended with baby oil. Chalked around her with some Pebbles chalks, cut out with regular and scalloped oval Nestabilities. Where the umbrella was, made her a "heart sign" using smallest heart Nesties attched on foam tape, and she is holding a tiny key charm dangling from thread. Love stamp is from Crafty Secrets, tiny heart sprays from See D's. Background DP is Basic Grey Bittersweet, inked all around. Stamped that gorgeous vine from Papertrey Ink with Versamark, embossed with silver EP. Stamped some little Rubber Stamp Tapestry hearts on the vine. The sentiment was printed from my computer, cut out with SU! punch, attached on foam tape to a Cuttlebug flourish. Foil butterfly with pink rhinestone added in the lower corner.
Stamps: Whiff of Joy Willow With Umbrella, Rubber Stamp Tapestry hearts, Papertrey Ink With Sympathy, See D's Romance, Crafty Secrets Cherish.
Paper: Basic Grey Bittersweet, The Paper Studio.
Ink: Stazon, Colorbox Queues.
Accessories: Silver EP, charm, foil butterfly, rhinestones, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, SU! punch, Stickles, foam tape.

I had a hard time getting a good picture of this card for the House Mouse challenge, but finally got some that are okay. Had an attack of Nestabilities here. Used the largest scalloped heart for the base. Traced around the inside of that die to get the folding heart from the red CS. Stamped both sides with new Inkadinkado flourish using Versamark, embossed with silver EP, added some rhinestones. Colored the mousey image with Prismas/baby oil, cut out with plain and scalloped ovals. Chalked it up with Pebbles. Attached this little stack to the left hand side of the opening heart. At first attached the photo tab where the little rhinestone flower is, but it wouldn't hold the card closed well enough. So out came the brad and covered the hole with the rhinestone flower. Probably shouldn't have tattled on myself there. Little picture shows the inside...another heart Nestie, sentiment printed from computer. Stamped some hearts by Rubber Stamp Tapestry, and there's a little pink rhinestone flower to cover my oops brad hole from the inside. :)
Stamps: House Mouse Chocolate Heart, Rubber Stamp Tapestry hearts, Inkadinkado Flourish 99040-K
Paper: The Paper Studio.
Ink: Colorbox Queues, Stazon.
Accessories: Nestabilities, rhinestones, photo tab, brad, silver EP.

On a more serious note I suppose: Today I will be having my post chemo tests. Blood work and a PET/CT scan. Was supposed to have these couple of weeks ago, but cost of the PET scan went up since last time so needed to wait until another payday to plop down $500 more. Ouch. Darn...now some of those crafty wish list items will have to wait. ;) Put this post in schedule mode, so we'll see how that works. With this behind me after today, hopefully will finally feel like I'm out of this limbo state. This is something that has been looming in the back of my mind so feel like my creativity hasn't been flowing like it should and I haven't been as charmed with my stuff lately. Oh well...onward we go, right? If you're still reading, thank you for stopping by, and please know that any comments are greatly appreciated.

Christmas COTW #5

Wow, at some point Wednesday night my blog counter hit 10K. Not a big number, I know, but when I started this blog in August, I thought I would be spending most of my time talking to myself and did not imagine that many hits 5 months later. A big thank you for visiting, and know that your comments are always greatly appreciated! I had originally planned to give away some blog candy for 10K hits, but a much better cause came up sooner, and that was Pat Adam's Cards for Kids. She has received almost 3500 cards to date (way to go cardmakers!) and that number keeps growing. Details and my blog candy can be found here. It goes till Feb. 7, so jump in the pool!

Okay, back to talking to myself. : ) Here is my Christmas card of the week, #5. This Whiff of Joy image is called Melinda Christmas Angel. Colored her with Primacolors/baby oil. Added Twinkling H20's to the "fur" trim and the sash, Stickles on the berries and her wings. I cut her out and mounted her on three layers of Curved Rectangles Nesties. I stamped silver snowflakes on the two solid colored cuts. Sentiment was stamped in three different colors to give it dimensions; looks good IRL. Tiny pearls added that final needed touch.

Stamps: Whiff of Joy Melinda Christmas Angel; Verve Winter Wonder; SU! Warm Words.
Paper: The Paper Studio, My Mind's Eye.
Ink: Stazon, Colorbox Queues.
Accessories: Nestabilities, Stickles, Twinkling H2O's, pearls.

Whiff of Joy #15

This week's Whiff of Joy challenge featured another great sketch by Katharina. Willow was colored with my Prismacolor pencils blended with baby oil. Waterfall Stickles were added to the rain. None of my circle Nesties were large enough to fit her in, so I used the largest and traced around here, cut out freehand, and scalloped Nestie used for mat. Martha Stewart scallop punch was used on the border, attached to My Mind's Eye DP and all attached to pale yellow base after edges were inked. Cuttlebug tag was cut and threaded on lower ribbon. Sentiment from Verve. We're so dry here - drought conditions and 2nd stage of water rationing - rain would be like liquid sunshine at this point. :) Felt like it needed some balance, so added the paisleys cut from a Cuttlebug die.

Stamps: Whiff of Joy Willow With Umbrella, Verve Artful Elegance.
Paper: The Paper Studio, My Mind's Eye.
Ink: Stazon, Colorbox Queues.
Accessories: Nestabilities, MS scallop punch, ribbon, Stickles, Cuttlebug, rhinestones.

It's Still Winter....Really????

Hmmm...it was 82 here yesterday, already up to 76 this afternoon. I've been running around in capri jeans, short sleeves and barefoot (sandals when I go out). Yet the calendar and Sharon say it's still winter, so we're definitely having some crazy south Texas weather. :) For this week's Stamp Simply Challenge Sharon wants us to make any type of card that says winter. If we can do that without using a snowman or snowflake, all the better! I actually had all these pieces cut and colored since before Christmas, they just never made it any further. Willow sitting in her armchair enjoying some hot chocolate, colored with Prismas/baby oil, attached to a stack of CS then on a background of Winterberry DP. Stamped the Verve sentiment directly on the green CS. Cuttlebug scrolls were put on burgundy CS, and gold vellum cut with MS punch. The buttons in the corners are left over from a suit I made over 15 years ago. Looks wintery to me! : ) This card will also serve as my entry for Whiff of Joy Challenge #13, following the sketch Heather provided.
Stamps: Willow With Hot Chocolate & Willow's Armchair from Whiff of Joy; Verve Artful Elegance.
Paper: The Paper Studio, Memory Box Winterberry, vellum.
Ink: Colorbox Queues.
Accessories: Cuttlebug, MS punch, buttons.

Day 10 of 12 Days of Christmas on PCP

On the 12th day of Christmas my true love gave to me Ten Lords a Leaping. For today's challenge could make something with a boy; thought of this Whiff of Joy stamp - Lying Matthew. He actually comes with that same sentiment, but this one here is not "his". Couldn't find it though, so used this one from Verve. Kraft CS base paper, My Mind's Eye DP on top of that. Matthew was stamped with Stazon onto a scrap of manila folder, colored with Prismas/baby oil, and cut out/embossed with long rectangle Nestabilities. The shimmery blue mat was also cut with the long rectangles. Attached the SU! label after doing the sentiment, and mounted it to the card. Rounded the lower corners of the card, inked the edges.

Stamps: Whiff of Joy, Verve.
Paper: Kraft CS, My Mind's Eye, Hot Off the Press, manila folder.
Ink: Colorbox Queues.
Accessories: SU! curved tag, corner rounder.

PCP 12 Days of Christmas / Whiff of Joy #11

On the ninth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me Nine Ladies Dancing...We can use another girl for the 12 Days of Christmas Challenge on Papercraft Planet. Since I was pressed for time I decided to combine this challenge with the Whiff of Joy Challenge #11 as well. Heather has provided another great sketch for this week's WOJ challenge. The image is Melinda Blowing Kisses, but I have her blowing glittered snowflakes instead of her little hearts. I colored her with Prismacolors and cut her out, put Stickles on her wings and on the flowers on her jeans. All DP is from Cosmo Cricket Wonderland. Circles were cut with Nestabilities and Melinda was mounted on them. Ribbon is from Michael's dollar bin and flowers stacked from Michael's bridal section, with rhinestone added to center. Sentiment was from Verve, cut out and corners rounded, attached on dimensionals. Three little Dew Drops on the bottom.

Stamps: Whiff of Joy - Melinda Blowing Kisses, Verve Winter Wonder.
Paper: The Paper Studio, Cosmo Cricket Wonderland.
Ink: Stazon, Colorbox Queues.
Accessories: Ribbon, Nestabilities, corner rounder, Dew Drops, rhinestones, die cut flowers, glitter.

Whiff of Joy Challenge 10

This was a fun challenge this week on the Whiff of Joy blog! They expanded the challenge from a bookmark to anything but a card. I used my all time favorite WOJ image, Willow With Cocoa, stamped her with StazOn and colored her with Prismacolor pencils blended with baby oil. Cut her out and embossed with an oval Nestabilities, chalking around her while still in the die. The mug was printed onto Kraft CS, cut out scored with my Scor-Pal. I used stamps from Filigree Fantasy by Verve. I stamped them with Versamark and embossed with copper embossing powder.
I put two packets of cocoa in the mug, along with a baggie of mini marshmallows, and four individual chocolate dipped peppermint sticks. The pic to the right is the back of the mug.
Stamps: Verve Filigree Fantasy.
Paper: The Paper Studio, Kraft CS.
Ink: StazOn, Versamark.
Accessories: Mug template, embossing powder, Prismacolor pencils and baby oil.

Triple Delight

Got lots accomplished last night. Shelbie's plane was delayed out of Burlington, VT - twice; thought she would miss her connection at JFK but that one was delayed as well. So I worked on cards throughout the evening while continuing to check on her flight status. Finally her flight into Austin was due to arrive at 1:46 this morning instead of 11:30 last night. So left here at midnight with my niece and Shelbie's boyfriend (my son wanted to sleep) to pick her up at the Austin airport. Cheaper by hundreds, even with gas, to fly her into Austin rather than straight into San Antonio. Crazy. The three of us almost tackled her; I think we were all crying, and we sure were getting stared at. : )
So here is some of what I got accomplished last night. More still in stages all over my desk. :) For all three of these cards I used paper from Cosmo Cricket's Wonderland pack. Gorgeous stuff.

I love WOJ images; this one just arrived last week so inked her up for Heather's sketch for Whiff of Joy Challenge #9. I colored Lizzie with Prismacolor pencils and baby oil, inked around her a bit and added some corners behind her. Layered all the Cosmo Cricket papers and the ribbon onto green CS base. Used gold vellum for the snowflakes. Sentiment is from Verve.

Stamps: Whiff of Joy Lizzie With Muff, Verve Winter Wonder.
Paper: The Paper Studio CS and vellum, Cosmo Cricket.
Ink: Stazon, Colorbox Queues.
Accessories: Prismacolor pencils/baby oil, ribbon, Cuttlebug.

For Sharon's SSNOTIME62 challenge this week, got to do something I haven't tried yet, writing on ribbon. I had this pretty wide satin ribbon in my stash so ran it through my printer. It's a little fuzzy, but I'll take it because I wanted the sentiment vertical. Cosmo Cricut DP attached to manilla folder, both punched with MS border punch. Also stamped the Inkadinkado angel on a piece of manila folder with Versamark and embossed in gold EP. Cut out and embossed with the Curved Rectangle Nestie, inked the edges. Added some gold vellum CB snowflakes. Finally, added some rhinestones on the flakes and on the angel.

Stamps: Inkadinkado Christmas Silhouettes.
Paper: Manilla folder, Cosmo Cricket, vellum.
Ink: Versamark, Colorbox Queues.
Accessories: Ribbon, computer, embossing powder, Cuttlebug, Spellbinders, MS border punch, rhinestones.

I have been wanting to use this owl image from Inkadinkado, and thought it was perfect for Papercraft Planet's Saturday Sketch Challenge. I flipped the sketch on its side. The DP is attached to a cream CS, then ribbon from Michael's over the seam. I stamped the owl with Versamark and embossed with copper EP. Cut out and embossed with the oval Nestie, then scalloped one. Inked around the image while still in the die. The sentiment and cute little snowflakes are from Verve. Attached image and sentiment on dimensionals.

Stamp: Inkadinkado Winter Birds, Verve Winter Wonder
Paper: The Paper Studio, Cosmo Cricket.
Ink: Versamark, Colorbox Queues.
Accessories: Nestabilities, ribbon, embossing powder, dimensionals.

Fourth Whiff of Joy Challenge

Here's the fourth Whiff of Joy Challenge. This time we get to make a card using autumn colors. Oh, and I just saw many gorgeous colors while in Vermont visiting my daughter!!! We stayed at a gorgeous B&B near a floating bridge, and the mist on the lake in the early morning was ethereal. I decided to use Willow's Chair...it arrived while I was gone, and seems fitting since there was a parlour in the inn where we could sit and read or just relax. Now this is Willow's chair, but when she went to get more hot chocolate, Kitty hopped into her chair. :) I stamped the chair image twice, once on CS and a second time on some DP. Cut out the DP for the cushions, and colored in the wood of the chair with Prismacolor pencils blended with baby oil. Same with the hat box, using a striped DP, colored the side of the lid and added some Stickles. Mounted the chair on a triple mat of three different CS colors and popped the box up on dimensionals. Embossed the burgundy CS with Cuttlebug paisley folder, inked the raised parts. Guess I had an attack of corner punches, as I used the rounder and that notched one on this card. Sentiment is from Verve, cut out with oval Nestabilies and mounted on dimensionals. Finally, added those teensy Cuttlebug flowers I seem to have gotten hooked on, put Stickles in their centers, and then the Dew Drops.

Stamps: Whiff of Joy Willow's Chair, Pink Cat Studio Kitty, Verve Artful Elegance
Paper: The Paper Studio CS, My Mind's Eye DP.
Ink: Stazon, Colorbox Queues, Prismacolor pencils.
Accessories: Nestabilities, Cuttlebug, Stickles, Dew Drops, dimensionals, corner punches.

Whiff of Joy Challenge #3

This will be my last post until next week. I'm leaving this afternoon to see my daughter for parent weekend at Norwich University in Vermont. Can't wait to see her!!!! This is for the Whiff of Joy Challenge, following a sketch by DT member Heather. For this card I used Willow with Lantern image. Colored her with Prismacolor pencils and blended with baby oil. Added some Stickles for the holly berries and Twinkling H2O's on the lantern for a glow effect, which you can't see in the picture. Also added some over her hair and waist ribbons. Popped her up on dimensionals. All of the background papers are from Basic Grey Two Scoops pad. Ribbon is from Michael's dollar bin. Flowers cut out with my Cuttlebug, layered and secured with a brad. Snowflake rhinestones in the corners, and added some Dew Drops.

Stamps: Whiff of Joy Willow with Lantern.
Paper: Basic Grey DP, The Paper Studio CS.
Ink: Stazon.
Accessories: Ribbon, snowflakes, brads, dimensionals, Dew Drops.
