I wanted to do this week's Papercraft Planet Sketch challenge, so made this card for my boyfriend's birthday which was yesterday. Didn't want to post it till today so he wouldn't see it here. : )
Mushy time. Have to say I feel I've found my soul mate in Chuck. Last year when I learned that my cancer had recurred he and I had only been dating about a month. I told him the news, gave him the opportunity to run without any guilt since we had been seeing each other such a short time. Without missing a beat, he said "you're not getting rid of me that easily". He has been such a source of strength and joy...laughed with me, cried with me, held me quietly when I didn't feel like talking. Added bonus, my kids are crazy about him too! Am I lucky, or what? : )
Okay, on to the card stuff now if you're still with me. Card base is from Stampin Up! Rich Regals (don't know the individual color names). The background DP is a pretty shimmery blue by Hot of the Press. I used a leftover scrap from a DCWV pack for the patterned DP strip, rounded a couple of corners, inked the edges. On top of that put the sentiment panel, which I printed from my computer, rounded some corners, inked edges, then used a cotton ball to smear some color across the white paper to tone it down. Cut the stars from heavy silver cardstock using a Cuttlebug die. The locket was cut from the same paper with a Spellbinders die, embossed and then inked while still in the die, then attached wtih dimensionals. The matching key is attached to the inside of the card, and the sentiment continued there says "That's how much I love you". Added glitter to the stars and stuck them down with my glue pen.
Stamps: None.
Paper: SU!, HOTP, DCWV.
Ink: Computer, Colorbox Queues.
Accessories: Cuttlebug, Spellbinders, glitter, computer, corner rounder.

He is a keeper for sure! Will laugh, listen and let your kids like him! I hope to find that again someday. Awesome card. I love the embellishment! Awesome job!
What a wonderful card, Nancy. I'm so glad you are enjoying the challenges on the "planet".
I'm also happy to hear about how much you appreciate your man. A good man can make life a true joy - as I have found with my husband. He's also lucky to have someone as caring as you in his life.
what a sweet card :)
Pretty in blue!!!!!!!
BEAUTIFUL!!!! I love the sentiment!!! I am amazed that the heart-shaped lock is a diecut...what?!? It looks so real!!! I thought it was a charm or a piece of jewelry. I also love all the glimmering stars!! You have created a gorgeous card, my friend!!! I know your honey loved it:o) Wish him a happy belated birthday from me!
Hugs!
Carolyn
I'm happy you have Chuck, and I think he is a lucky man, too. Plus the kids are crazy 'bout him -- that's huge! The card is adorable and I'll bet he appreciates all you put into it.
Smiles and hugs --- and belated happy birthday, Chuck!
Very pretty card, Nancy. Love the colors too.
I have left something on my blog for you.
Take care
Karen
