I usually tend not to use very bright colors, but I had this Sweet Pea image stamped and had her dress colored with a muted shade of green. When I saw the Playdate Cafe color challenge, I ramped it up turned her dress into this pretty aqua and pale green number. All coloring done with Prismacolors blended with baby oil. Added Pebbles chalks around the edge. Flowers are made with punches from DP that I stamped using a flourish stamp. Sentiment from JustRite.

Sweet Pea DT Search
Well, I pretty much waited until the end to get this in. Sweet Pea Stamps is having a Design Team call, and there are so many very gifted cardmakers in the running, but I figured I'll give it a shot.
I have a huge collection of Sweet Pea stamps and it seems I'm adding to that quite often. I've always loved fairies and fantasy themes, and these stamps certainly fit that category! They are fun to color, and I love creating a card around these images. I tend to go on the simpler side for the card so as to showcase the image, but I really like how they turn out. I would love to have the opportunity to be a part of the Sweet Pea design team, and share more of these beauties!!
I have made quite a few cards with these images, but did not get pictures of them all (darn it!) Here are some of my more recent favorites:

Distressed Hat
Have you ever been in a rush to clean your craft space and accidentally tossed a keeper? That's what happened to my image, after I had finished with it. It got caught up in the drift of scraps that I tossed and scrunched down into the recycle bin. When I finally realized I had tossed the image ~*gasp!*~ I managed to find it. It was a little rumpled, so since I was making it for the OCC challenge which called for distressing, I went ahead and rumpled it some more, then added Distress Inks to bring out the abuse. :) The teensy little roses I made with 1/8" ribbon a couple years ago to put on a fashion doll make-over gown. I had some left over, so I colored these with Copics. The little paper rosebud is from Wild Orchid. Added the image to a gold doily, then mounted that on layers of K&Co DP. Added the little gloves charm onto the sentiment banner.

Flourishes Birthday
Flourishes Timeless Tuesday this week is to create a birthday card. I am using another image from the newest Flourishes release. This is the largest of the images, colored with Prismacolors. I stamped the sentiment directly onto theDP. The flowers are from MS hydrangea punch; I took a nip out of each petal then blended some Prismacolors and inked the edges of the petals. The paper directly behind the image is a gorgeous vellum with images of handwritten pages on it.

Need To Remember The Stripes
I have lots of DP that has stripes, but for some reason I shy away from them. Don't know why. When I saw the challenge at Simon Says Stamps and Show - use stripes - I dug some out. Just so happens I've used this same striped paper on several other cards this month, but Paper Sundaes' challenge is to use masculine colors so I stuck with this one. Used this week's Sketchy Colors sketch. The image is from one of the latest Flourishes stamp sets, "From The Desk Of". This one doesn't take much color, but I did a bit with Prismacolors. Did a vignette around the image with Pebbles chalks, mounted it up on foam tape. The DP is HOTP and K&Co.

A Simply Sentimental Card
This week's JustRite Friday challenge is direct to rubber. I used Marvy markers on the sentiment, brown and burgundy intermingled on the stamp. I don't have any of the new frilly JR border stamps yet, so I used the marker to ink the corner from one of the square borders of the Hope set and stamped each corner individually. Colored some tiny rhinestones with Copic marker to match. The OCC challenge is to get wordy...use a sentiment stamp to make the background or a layer. I used a SU! word for the layer behind the sentiment panel. I followed the sketch at Craft Your Days Away, and cut the card shape using Grand Labels One. The little tea-time charms are from my stash.

Basic Grey Sketch
I came across this great sketch at the Basic Grey Challenge blog and thought it would be perfect for another fairy image. I used papers from three different Basic Grey packs...LilyKate, Capella, and the last one didn't have the cover on it so don't know the name of that pack. I had the wings on this Sweet Pea image colored pink and had added Stickles and then for some reason never finished it. So I finished her using the colors from this week's CR84FN challenge. I colored the image with Prismacolors blended with baby oil. The flowers were made from different punches.

Buttons and Bows and Lace, Oh My!
Well, darn...I had planned to use this Friday Sketchers sketch (one that came out last Friday) for my The Shabby Tea Room card, got it all put together, and missed the deadline for that challenge by about ten minutes. Oh well, still had to write this post so... I'll just have to check the deadlines better next time.
The image is from Art Creations Friday. I tinkered with the colors a bit and then printed it on canvas. Used deckle edge scissors to cut around the image, inked the edges with Distress Inks. All DP is Prima. The little tag is a Grunge paper tag that comes with the packaging. Attached it to the metal button with jump rings, then added the green button. Flower is made from punches, spritzed with Glimmer Mist. It's attached over some pieces of lace I aged with Distress Inks, and a few stamens I colored with Copics. The little sticker on the tag I cut from a Crafty Secrets sheet.
Challenges
The Shabby Tea Room - Buttons and Bows
Claudia and Company - Recipe (1 tag, 2 buttons, ribbon, sticker)

So on to the clean and simple Midnight Madness sketch. I made this a card for a little boy. I'm not sure who this image is by, I think it's Inkadinkado. Image is colored with Prismacolor pencils. Circles With a Digi
Decided to try the Digital Tuesday challenge, to use diecuts this week with your digital image. This is "Sweetness", from TLC Creations, colored with Copics. I use Sunday Sketch and Stamp layout, and Paper Sundaes had a Sundae Toppings Bar fwhere we are to use at least two of the following: Flowers, lace, distressing and the color pink. I obviously chose pink, and there is distressing around the circles. Oh, and flowers if you count the DP. :)

Mouse Throwdown
The current House Mouse challenge was hard for me, because they want us to use our favorite House Mouse image. I love all my little meecey images so I had a tough time picking a favorite. Got it down to five or six, closed my eyes and grabbed...here's "Flower Bed". I used MojoMonday178 sketch and this week's Color Throwdown of light green, dark green and blue. The image is colored with Copics and Prismacolor pencils (I don't have any blue Copics yet)

Sweet Pea Sketch With CR84FN Colors
Well...IRL the colors are teal, green and yellow, like in the CR84FN challenge, but no matter where I took the picture of this card, it looks more blue. I promise, it's teal! I had a hard time coloring this one. I had bought some more expensive, supposedly better quality watercolor paper for using Distress Inks. I've had a hard time with this paper with getting the Distress Inks to blend properly, or even just lay down properly, so I'm going to go back to my cheapy watercolor paper that I really liked. Live and learn. This cute lady is called "Telsa" from Sweet Pea Stamps. After the Distress Inks dried, I had to even out some places on this with Prismacolors and then blend. I glued on the tiny, fine chain in the areas on the image where she had chains, so that adds some glitz, along with Stickles on her hat. The DP is Cafe Mediterranean from DCWV; this particular page had the perfect colors for the CR84FN color scheme. I added the hand-cut "banner" to the side (like I did on the last card); think it looks really cute!

Lovely Lottie
This week's Flourishes Timeless Tuesday calls for three patterned papers. I used Basic Grey Capella papers - love those colors! I followed the sketch on Mark's Finest papers, and almost covered up one of the DP's behind the flowers. Oops, but it's there! The third paper is what the sentiment is stamped on. It's from Flourishes "Around the Arbor" set. Found a few other challenges for this card as well.

Brown and Blue Tag
I starting making this tag, no real direction in mind. Just happened to pick brown and blue because I love those colors together, so entering the Crafty Ho's challenge. I painted some Grunge Paper swirls with Distress Crackle Paint, then sponged it with some brown Distress Ink. Added a few tiny flowers from a CB die. Used a copper DecoPaint pen around the edge. Top part swivels so it can be written on inside.

Play Date Wall Hanging
I was roaming blogville checking out different challenges. I knew I wanted to use this sketch from Pixie Cottage and when I found the color scheme at The Play Date Cafe challenge, I knew which stamp I wanted to use. I've had this beauty for several years but have never used it. It's a big image, 4.25 x 5", so it was either make a really big card, or...
So I went with the or. : ) I got this frame in the clearance section at Hobby Lobby for $3, because the glass was broken. It's outer measurement is 15" square with the inner photo portion being 8" square. It had a different mat around the outer border as well as another smaller inner mat, both of which I removed. I used DCWV Lace and Linen stack for the outer border and background of the inner part. I stamped the image with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink, found a couple other DP's in my stash, and inked all the borders with Frayed Burlap. The image is mounted on foam tape. The lace and the ribbon were left over from dresses I made for my daughter when she was little (about 15 years ago) "aged" them both with Distress Inks. Added a few pearls and put it back in the frame. Now I just need to get a new piece of glass for it and it's ready to hang!

Stamps: Renaissance Bride (don't know company)

JustRite Flourishes
Squeaking in under the wire. I got busy this weekend and almost ran out of time before getting to post this card. This one is for Flourishes Timesless Tuesday - Buttons. I used the sketch on the JustRite Friday Challenge blog. I went back to the Guiding Light set and used another one of my left-over buttons like I did for this card (2nd one). This time I used HOTP striped paper, and tied the sailor's knot with hemp cord. Again, I gave the button a "patina" by coloring it with a couple different Copic markers. The sentiment is JustRite Hope set.

Last But Not Least
Here's my last Valentine card. This one is for my sweetie, Chuck. I've wanted to use this swan stamp for quite a while now and finally put it to use here. Then tried not make it too girlie so I didn't color them, but put the tiny heart in their beaks. :) Followed the Mojo177 sketch. Used a Cuttlebug folder for the background, and four different Spellbinders dies. Made the little pocket and tucked it behind the main image, put a little tag in it and attached it with a chain to the key.

By the Sea Valentine
This is the last Valentine card I have made by request, and it's also an anniversary card - They got married on Valentine's day five or six years ago. It's for a man, but his wife wanted some pink in it. They both love the shore, so I went with this couple image from Stampin Up, as well as the lighthouse from Flourishes Guiding Light set. I went with papers from HOTP "Ephemera" set, which has a lot of masculine papers in it. I love pink and gray, but since this is for a guy and I went with the ocean theme, I used blue with the gray. Then added the pink hearts and tiny flowers for the Valentine Theme. I liked the sketch from last week's Friday Sketchers, so tried to follow that.

Valentine Tag
I meant to post this yesterday on Joan's tag challenge, but seems I've missed that deadline. Oh well...here it is anyway. Don't know that I've gotten any better at making tags, but Joan's tag challenges are fun, and I'll have a nice stash of tags. For this one I used two Spellbinders dies...Scalloped Hearts for the base and the larges of the Nested Hearts for the top. I attached the hearts with an eyelet and a brad so the top one will pivot and a message can be written on the bottom one. I made the largest flower, the rest are from Wild Orchid. Finished off with the angel charm hanging from a chain.

For Her Mom
I had this sweet image colored with darker brown hair and brown eyes, like my daughter, sitting on my craft table. A friend's daughter saw it and a few days later brought over a picture of herself as a little girl. She has lighter hair and bright green eyes. She wanted me to make a Valentine for her mom that she could put into a frame and display in her home, something with this image. I colored her with Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils. I had scraps of paper all over the place until I settled on these. Made the flowers to add to it, added the little copper colored heart. I think she'll like it.

A Blue Guy Valentine
Third and final post for today. Another request from a friend - this time for a blue Valentine, nothing "foofy". It's for her husband, they've been married 26 years. Pretty quick and simple card. The stamp actually went all the way across, I cut it apart and mounted each letter separately. The ..."is timeless" sentiment was printed from my computer.

Midnight Madness Winter Thaw
Here is the second Midnight Madness sketch card I did; clean and simple version this time. Flourishes is hosting a Winter Thaw challenge, using their posted photo as inspiration. I used the crocus from the Calendar Set 1, colored it with Copics and added some Stickles, and chalked around the image.

Fancy Midnight Madness
I really like this week's Midnight Madness sketch. I did both versions, will do a separate post for the CAS version. A friend asked me to make a Valentine card for her daughter, picked out this Sweet Pea image called Moonlight Fairy, and wanted me to use colors other than the usual pink or red. The image is colored with Distress Inks; I rubbed the background with my finger to smudge it (finger is still blue). Moon is colored with Twinkling H2Os, and Stickles for her wings. By the time I finished I almost didn't want to give it up, it's really pretty IRL. :)

ABC's
This is my card for my personal challenge of a Christmas card each. All paper is from Anna Griffin. I saw the clean and simple sketch on ABC Christmas Challenge blog and knew which stamp I was going to use, and the ABC challenge called for neutral colors, so this card kind of fell together pretty quickly. The wreath is embossed with gold EP, cut out with Spellbinders circle Nesties, as is the frame around it. The ladies at 2 Sisters challenge say the world is our oyster - to use pearls - so I added some to the wreath. The sentiment is from JustRite.

One More For Today
Three posts in one day...on a roll. : ) Actually, this last card was pretty quick to put together. The Our Creative Corner challenge this week is "branch out"...use a tree image and keep it clean and simple. I love this tree image and used copper EP, cut it out with Spellbinders Mega Curved Rectanble die. I also went straight to this Tim Holtz embossing folder and mooshed a piece cut from a cereal box through it. I edged the "bark" with a copper DecoColor marker.

Oriental Waltzingmouse
This is my second post today. I've had this stamp from Rubbernecker for a long time but have never used it. It is colored with Copics and Prismacolor pencils, trying to go for somewhat of a watercolor look. The background is chalked. All DP is DCWV Far East pack. Kept is pretty clean and simple, but I like the way it turned out.

Joan's Challenge #5
Ever have one of those projects pictured in your head, but by the time you have it in paper it looks completely different? That this card. : ) The card base and vintage paper were cut from Grand Labels One (lovin' my Grand Calibur!). I colored the image with combo of Copics and Prismacolor pencils. On the pink paper I stamped a flourish image with Versamark and embossed with clear EP. This is my card for Joan's weekly card challenge. Keeping Joan and her family in my prayers, as they are going through a very difficult time.
